About the Practitioner
Kevin Francis has been dedicated to healing for almost 20 years, he has worked in many dynamic projects throughout Europe, including assisting in an Art Therapy project in the Swiss mountains (Berzona), Occupational Therapy in a psychiatric hospital in Northern Ireland (Holywell) and developing and working as a Project Manager with refugee children and older people in Croatia during the Yugoslav war (Suncokret).
Kevin has gained a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Environmental Art from Glasgow School of Art and a post-graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from Strathclyde University.
In parallel to this work he has also been developing his Complementary Therapy practice. Following a deep intuitive path has encouraged Kevin to work as a Reiki practitioner (training with Ankhara), through this practice he was drawn to work with the energy of Sekhem (with Gordon Soutar, now developed into SourceSTAR), which originates in ancient Egypt. Whilst practising these methods he continuously felt a strong Shamanic presence which directed him to work with sacred instruments, such as the Tibetan bowls and the drum. He has also received a Sacred Transmission in FeatherStone healing.
Kevin has studied with a number of well respected Shamanic Practitioners, including Mark Halliday and Claudia Goncalves of the Foundation for Planetary Healing in Portobello, Franco Santoro at Findhorn and Twobirds of Anam Cara.
Whilst practising Yoga, Kevin was introduced to Meditation and Buddhism. He has participated in many retreats and workshops, including a sabbatical at Nalanda Buddhist Monastery in France and several Vipassana retreats. Kevin has facilitated meditation workshops in TirNaNog, the Tom Allen Centre (as part of his Anger Awareness course) and at the University of Strathclyde.
Kevin Francis plans to eventually open a Holistic Centre near the Pyrenees with his wife, Ruth Antoli, who is a Yoga teacher, Thai yoga massage and Shiatsu practitioner. (www.yogaloka.org).
He continues to develop his professional practice and has recently completed Advanced Shamanic Healing practices at Anamcara and FeatherStone II in Portobello. He is (at time of writing) deepening his connection to the Celtic Shamanic practices of his Ancestors of Scotland and Ireland.
